AI-Accelerated Development
Custom software, built faster — and reviewed by a senior engineer, line by line
We use modern AI development tooling the way a good shop uses power tools: the routine work moves faster, while 10+ years of hands-on engineering experience decides the architecture, reviews every change, and owns the result.
What actually changes
AI moves the routine work. The decisions stay with people.
Modern AI coding tools are genuinely good at one category of work: implementation that has been done a thousand times before. They are not good at understanding your organization, weighing trade-offs, or catching the edge case that takes a system down in month three. So we split the work along exactly that line.
Gets faster and cheaper
Routine implementation
- Standard screens, forms, and admin views
- API endpoints and data plumbing against documented services
- Test scaffolding, migrations, and configuration boilerplate
- First working drafts of routine features, ready to review and refine
Stays human and senior
Everything with consequences
- Discovery — understanding what your organization actually needs
- Architecture and data-model decisions you'll live with for years
- Review of every change before it ships
- Security, privacy, and accountability for the result
What we deliver
Two ways this shows up in your project
Custom software, delivered at higher velocity
The same custom software and integration work we've always done, with the routine hours compressed — same stack, same review discipline.
- Custom web applications and portals
- Integrations between the systems you already run
- Internal tools that replace spreadsheet workflows
- Working software early in the engagement, so you react to the real thing instead of mock-ups
AI features inside your product — where they genuinely help
Some problems are a real fit for today's models. None of them are magic; each is a well-understood pattern we scope, test, and constrain like any other feature.
- Search that understands phrasing, not just keywords
- Summaries of long documents, threads, and records
- Content drafting your team reviews and finalizes
- Data extraction from forms, PDFs, and email into structured records
Why it holds up
Senior judgment is the product
Anyone can generate code now. What you're paying for is the experience to know which code to keep — and someone who answers for it after launch.
Every change reviewed
An engineer with 10+ years of hands-on experience reads every change before it ships. AI output is held to the same standard as any other code: understood first, merged second.
No black-box handoffs
You'll never inherit a system nobody can explain. We can walk you through any part of what we built, because we made every decision in it.
You own the code
Plain, documented code in a repository you control. No proprietary runtime, no lock-in, nothing you need us — or any tool — to decipher.
The other half of the answer
Where AI doesn't fit
Using these tools well means knowing when to put them down. Three places we don't let AI drive — and will tell you so in the estimate.
Novel safety-critical logic
Certification rules, payroll math, anything where a subtle error hurts a person or a ledger. That logic gets designed and written by hand, then tested against known cases. AI can help write the tests; it doesn't get to write the rule.
Unreviewable throwaway code
Generating piles of code nobody reads is how systems rot. If a change is too large to review honestly, we don't ship it — we break it down until we can.
A substitute for understanding your business
No tool replaces discovery. If we don't understand your enrolment rules or your compliance obligations, faster code just reaches the wrong answer sooner.
If your project sits mostly in these categories, an AI-heavy approach won't save you much — and we'll say that plainly in the first call rather than sell you the label.
Budgets & timelines
What this means for your budget and timeline
In plain terms: routine implementation takes fewer hours, so more of your budget goes to the parts that make the software yours — and working versions arrive earlier, so course corrections are cheap. How much faster depends on the project. Builds with lots of standard construction gain the most; work that is mostly discovery and novel logic gains the least. We won't quote a percentage — we'll scope your project and give you a real estimate.
