FAQ

Straight answers to the questions we hear most

The software we build, consultations, hosting, pricing, and support — answered the way we'd answer them on a call. If yours isn't here, ask us directly.

What kinds of software do you build?

Software built around the way your organization works: business applications, client and member portals, internal tools, workflow systems, e-commerce builds, and the APIs that connect them to the systems you already run. We also build WordPress websites and WooCommerce stores, and custom learning platforms for organizations that teach and train. Every build is scoped with you first and supported after launch.

What technology do you build with?

The stack we ship in production today is Laravel (PHP), React, and Tailwind CSS for custom applications, Stripe for payments, WordPress and WooCommerce for websites and stores, and Moodle and LearnDash for learning platforms. We'd rather recommend what fits your project and the systems you already run than force everything into one stack, and we'll explain the choice in plain language before anything gets built.

What does a free consultation actually involve?

A one-on-one call with the people who would actually build your system — no sales script, no obligation. We talk through your organization, the systems you run today, and what you're trying to fix or build. You leave with a clear read on whether we can help, and if we can, what a roadmap would look like.

Do you only work with education and training organizations?

No. DreaMedia is a custom software development company, and the problems we solve — information typed into several systems, a process that lives in one person's spreadsheet, a website that can't keep up — look much the same in a clinic, a trades business, a store, or a training program. Learning platforms are one specialty: we've built and run custom learning platforms in production, and we look after existing Moodle and LearnDash sites. If your problem is disconnected systems or software that no longer fits, the industry matters less than the plumbing.

You use AI to build software. What does that mean for quality?

We use modern AI tooling to move faster on the routine work — not to replace engineering judgment. Every line that ships is reviewed by a senior developer with 10+ years of hands-on experience, and architecture decisions stay human. The result is more velocity for your budget, not less scrutiny.

AI-Accelerated Development How we use AI in practice

Do you publish pricing?

No — and we'd be guessing if we did. A compliance-tracking LMS for a multi-branch college and a booking integration for a single clinic are very different builds. Every project is scoped individually after a free consultation, so the number you get reflects your actual requirements — and you see the scope before you commit to anything.

Where is our data hosted?

On servers in Canadian data centres powered by renewable energy. DreaMedia is 100% Canadian-owned and operated, with our head office in Vernon, BC — which matters if your organization has Canadian data-residency requirements. If you're hosted elsewhere today and want to move, migration is part of what we do.

About DreaMedia

What are your support hours, and how quickly do you respond?

Our support hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm PST, and you can always reach us at inquiries@dreamedia.ca. Because we're a small senior team, the person answering is usually the person who built your system — so answers come with context, not a ticket number. Response commitments for ongoing support are agreed as part of each engagement rather than promised generically.

Do you work with organizations outside Canada?

Yes. We're based in Vernon, BC and collaborate remotely, and our Monday-to-Friday PST hours overlap well with clients across North America. Hosting stays in Canadian data centres by default — for many organizations outside Canada, that's a feature rather than a limitation.

Can you take over an existing Moodle or LearnDash site?

Yes — this is routine work for us. We customize, host, secure, and support Moodle and LearnDash sites that other teams built, and we'll tell you honestly whether your current platform still fits your programs. When you outgrow it, we plan the migration to a custom learning platform with you.

How do you protect learner records during a migration?

We audit and map your existing data first, then run the migration against a copy of your site — never the live one — and verify enrolments, completions, and certification history before anything switches over. Cutover happens only once the records check out, scheduled to keep downtime minimal. Your learners' history arrives intact, or we don't go live.

Tell us what you need built, connected, or fixed.

A free, no-obligation call with the people who will actually do the build. Bring the idea, the workaround, or the system you've outgrown, and we'll talk through what it would take and whether we're the right team to do it.
